Studio Space

I always enjoy seeing other artists’ spaces and thought I’d share my new studio in Twisp, WA. I have the smaller room of the two-bedroom house my husband and I rent for my office and studio. The room is approximately 9′ x 12′ with two windows, as well as an additional closet in which I

Linoleum Prints!

I’m rediscovering printmaking (from my days at Carleton College) and am having such fun making small linoleum prints (and a mess in my studio). I’m working small and think that the prints will be a lovely studio complement to my field sketches. I’m planning to have a whole series completed in time for the Greenwood-Phinney

It’s my birthday!

It made art-making more challenging with finding materials and keeping everything neat. Now everything is much better with my office tucked in a corner

Summer Studio

Today I tidied up my summer studio space which consists of 1/2 of the garage. Garages have high entropy, but after a go-over with a shop vac, things are looking better. When the weather is nice, the light and ventilation is fantastic. In the winter… well, maybe I’ll just head south to Antarctica. On the

Watercolors and Tides

The past few days here in the Pacific NW have been rainy, cold, and now windy. A bit disappointing for spring, but I’ve been keeping busy in my studio- which on Saturday, I’ll be leaving when I move back to Seattle. While I will miss the island, I am looking forward to being more accessible

Challenging Myself

It’s raining out this evening after an exuberant past few days of sun. It’s been near impossible to stay indoors and I’ve been cycling, running, and painting. On Saturday I had the pleasure of hosting an artist group I’m part of in Seattle and five women came over to share work and sketch. It was
