A beautiful book on the North Cascades has just been published.
There’s a stunning new book on the North Cascades by NW author Bill Dietrich, just published by Braided River. The book thoughtfully explores the region’s ecology, geology, cultural history, and recreational opportunities. it includes contributions by eight writers and is beautifully illustrated through photography and art, including one of my paintings! Congratulations, Maria, for having your work included in such a beautiful book.
The subtitle of the book, “Finding beauty and renewal in the wild nearby,” seems to me to be well-linked to the feelings I get when viewing your work. Someday I’d love to experience your largest paintings in the flesh. I’ve been keeping my eyes open to opportunities for that.
